+ How in advanced should I book?
If your wedding is in less than a year, reach out asap! My weekends fill out 8-12 months in advanced. For branding & documentary projects, my schedule is more flexible.
+ Do you travel?
One of the biggest joys of my job is following where your story takes you, and travelling to document it. I take a limited amount of destination and non-local weddings each year in an effort to give them my full attention (and stay present with my growing family)! Travel costs include transportation and accomodation and will be woven into your total investment.
+ What types of films do you make?
While I have a deep love for filming weddings, my work spans beyond that! For the wedding-related folks, you can also comission coverage from your rehearsal dinner, a proposal film, engagement session coverage, and more. Outside of weddings, I love documenting the stories behind small businesses and creating short family films. I'm also always down to film new things - so shoot me a message with your ideas and let's make something together.
+ What is your role as a videographer?
My priority is to capture your day/event/brand - both the obvious highlights and the in-between moments. As a documentarian, I tend to let things naturally play out and avoid interfering for the sake of the shot. I'd much rather capture an imperfect, organic moment than a staged "perfect" one. Outside of that, I am a planner and Type A at heart, so I'll naturally be your troubleshooting advocate, time keeper, dance floor hype woman, and ultimate friend. I deeply believe that good art comes from good relationships, so it's important to me that we vibe well with one another!
+ Are you licensed + insured?
Yes! I have General Liabilty Insurance and am happy to provide proof of insurance to your venue or company.
+ How do you choose the music for our film?
You might know that music is under copyright and therefore can't be used in films without permission. The standard for wedding filmmakers is to use music subscription platforms that provide thousands of song selections from various independent artists, spanning all genres and energy levels. Between your questionnaire and vibe of the day, I'll select songs that fit you and your film.
+ How do you work alongside my photographer?
Becoming friends with + collaborating alongside your photo team is one of the best parts of my job! I have made some amazing friends through this industry. Practically speaking, if I've never worked with your photographer before, I'll reach out ahead of time and make sure we set aside time to get together (virtually or in person), as well as include them in our month-of meeting. On the day, we will work together to document your wedding, creating alongside and encouraging each other. It helps to book vendors who meet the vision of your wedding and who you actually like to be around -- it'll make it that much more seamless on the day.
